Humidity Control for Engineered Wood Flooring
Maintain your humidity levels consistently throughout the year to keep your hardwood floors in proper shape.
Proper humidity levels should be between 35-48%.
Excessive humidity can cause hardwood boards to swell and cup. Use air conditioning or a dehumidifier to lower humidity to proper levels.
Excessive dryness can cause wood floors to shrink creating gaps between floor boards. Use a humidifier to increase humidity to proper levels.
Maintaining proper humidity levels in your home can help extend the life of your hardwood while keeping it looking beautiful for years to come.
